Surrey RCMP investigate collision involving police car

Surrey RCMP is currently on scene investigating an early morning crash between a civilian vehicle and a police car.
On January 20th at 6:15am, a Surrey RCMP police car was travelling southbound on 148th Street responding to a report of a robbery when it collided with an eastbound car at the intersection of 90th Avenue and 148th Street. The impact of the collision resulted in the civilian car ending up on the lawn of a nearby residence. The driver of the civilian car and the police officer were both taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation is in its early stages and investigators are currently working to determine what caused the collision.
As police continue to investigate, 148th Street will be closed between 88th Avenue and Fraser Highway until further notice.
