Police incident- 14200 Melrose Drive

Surrey RCMP is currently on scene at a residence in the 14200 block of Melrose Drive of Surrey for a report of a barricaded male.

On August 27, 2016 at approximately 10:40 AM, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of an assault and that the suspect male has barricaded himself inside the residence.

Upon arrival, officers located a 27 year old male who refused to come out of his residence to speak with police. Officers are in negotiation with the male to surrender to police.

The investigation is still in its early stages, but initial indications are that this incident involves parties known to each other. No other information about this investigation will be released at this time.

Traffic in the area will be closed for the next few hours while investigators obtain Judicial Authorization to gain entry to the residence.
