File # 2016-121753

Surrey RCMP and the BC Coroners Service are currently investigating a deceased male found in a donation bin in the Guildford area of Surrey.

On August 23, 2016, at 6:45am, Surrey RCMP was called to a donation bin near the intersection of 150th Street and 104th Avenue after a passer-by saw a male seemingly stuck inside the bin. Surrey Fire Department assisted the RCMP and the Coroners Service in the removal of the male. Unfortunately the male was pronounced deceased at scene.

Surrey RCMP’s General Investigation Unit is leading this investigation. At this point this sudden death does not appear suspicious and the male’s identity is still being determined. Officers will be conducting a neighbourhood canvass for witnesses and/or video surveillance.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca
