Ice cream truck drives into ditch

On July 21, 2016 at approximately 3:45pm, Surrey RCMP received calls about an apparent ice cream truck that was driving in an unusual manner northbound on 141st Street near 100th Avenue. Callers advised that the truck was driving erratically and had struck several garbage cans before being driven into a ditch. Upon the arrival of emergency services, the driver of the truck was located and found to be uninjured. The driver, a 45 year old resident of Surrey, was later arrested and taken custody by police. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this incident. The matter is still under investigation.
