Multiple arrests following series of drug-related search warrants

Surrey RCMP advises that a number of arrests have been made following a series of simultaneous search warrants executed on multiple properties in Surrey this morning.
On May 17th at approximately 8:30am, Surrey RCMP’s Drug Unit, with assistance from Surrey Gang Enforcement Team (SGET), Traffic Community Services Enforcement Team (TCSET), Community Response Team (CRU), Property Crime and Auto Crime Target Teams, and the Integrated Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed five search warrants on properties in the North Surrey area. The locations included four apartment/condo units in the 13300 block of 102A Avenue and 13700 block of 107A Avenue and one residence in the 12900 block of 112A Avenue.
The warrants are in relation to an ongoing investigation into a drug trafficking dial-a-dope operation. At this time, seven people, five males and two females, have been arrested and taken into custody. Evidence consistent with street level drug trafficking has been located, however, the investigation is in its early stages.
The arrests are part of the Surrey RCMP’s overt and covert enforcement action to proactively and strategically target those individuals involved in the drug trade.
The Surrey RCMP continues to make progress targeting those individuals involved in the drug trade, says Surrey RCMP Proactive Enforcement Officer Inspector Shawna Baher.
By combining these enforcement activities with a number of prevention and intervention strategies, we are working on a multi-tiered approach to deal with the negative effects that the drug trade has on the health and safety our community.
