Surrey RCMP investigate shots fired in Newton

Surrey RCMP is currently on scene for a report of shots fired.

On May 14th at approximately 6:25pm, Surrey RCMP responded to several 911 calls reporting shots fired in the intersection of 75A Avenue and 120th Street.

Officers attended and located a silver SUV with one adult male suffering from injuries related to the shooting. The male was transported to local area hospital to be treated for his injuries. At the time of departing for the hospital, the male was conscious and able to speak. Police are currently working on obtaining a definitive description of the suspect vehicle and are not able to provide anything further at this time.

Officers are presently in the area conducting neighbourhood canvassing and speaking with witnesses to obtain further information. The investigation is still in its early stages, but initial indications are that this is a targeted incident.
