graphic of person being struck by a vehicle

In North Vancouver on January 9th, 2017 at approximately 5:00 pm a 70 year-old female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while crossing the intersection of Fell Avenue and West 3rd Street.

The 50 year-old female driver of the vehicle that collided with the pedestrian remained at the scene. The pedestrian (a Delta resident) was taken to Lions Gate Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver was making a left hand turn onto Fell Avenue from West 3rd Street and failed to yield to the pedestrian who was in the marked crosswalk, said Cpl. Richard De Jong of the North Vancouver RCMP. With the long dark days still upon us, pedestrians remain difficult to see.

The North Vancouver driver was issued a Traffic Violation Ticket for Failing to Yield to a Pedestrian – Section 127 of the BC Motor Vehicle Act.
