File # 2023-14912

On December 10, Mission RCMP received a report that a 42-year-old man had just threatened another man with a firearm at a house on Dewdney Trunk Road near Dalke Avenue in Mission. Officers responded and arrested the 42-year-old man as well as a 21-year-old woman, for weapons offences and uttering threats. Police remained on-scene for an extended period while they obtained a Search Warrant for the property, which was granted on the evening of the 10th. During the search, officers located a firearm, as well as a considerable amount of stolen property, including a trailer and an off-road vehicle.

"This was a high-risk and dynamic incident that our officers had to respond to immediately, without waiting for assistance from the Emergency Response Team," says Corporal Harrison Mohr with Mission RCMP. "The officers assessed the situation, identified the potential risk to public safety, and quickly took the suspects into custody. No one was injured as a result of the incident."

The persons involved are well-known to police. RCMP confirm that there is no indication that this incident is related to last week's shooting in Mission.
