File # 2017-214 Mission

In the mid-morning of February 23rd, 2017, the Mission RCMP Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of other Mission investigating teams, RCMP Police Dog Services, Emergency Response Team and Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement attended a property in the 35000 block Dale Road, Mission to execute a search warrant for an investigation of an unlicensed marihuana grow-op.

After searching several out buildings, investigators located a sophisticated and well established butane honey-oil extraction lab. These types of drug labs are for making marihuana derivatives and pose a great risk to the public. Butane is a highly flammable/combustible solvent that is illegal to use when making marihuana derivatives. [Corporal Kosmos Galos, Street Crime Unit]

A male was located on the property and was taken into custody. Charges against the male are still under investigation.

Police continue to investigate the extent of the illegal operation as more charges are expected to be forwarded.
