Man convicted of break and enter given a jail sentence

A man arrested in a break and enter to a Fort Langley business on December 24, 2023 has been convicted.

On December 24, 2023, Langley RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter that had occurred to a business in Fort Langley. A 38-year-old, Matthew Ostrander was arrested, charged and held in custody for break and enter.

On January 22, 2024, Ostrander appeared in court and was convicted for the offence of break and enter. Ostrander was given a 90-day jail sentence and probation. After completing his time in custody sentence, Ostrander is to be released on Probation for 2 years and is bound by several conditions. One of the conditions prohibiting Ostrander from being within a two-kilometer radius of Fort Langley, British Columbia.

The residents of Fort Langley community played a key role in the advancement of this investigation in a timely manner, says Cpl. Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP, We would like to remind residents to report all suspicious activities.
