File # 2023-33573

On October 2, 2023 just after 8:00 pm, the Langley RCMP received a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 202 Street and 64 Avenue. Officers arrived and found Emergency Health Services (EHS) and Township of Langley Fire Department on scene communicating with a female who was pinned under the front of a white Chevrolet pick up truck.

Investigators have determined that the driver of the white pick up truck had been driving west on 64th Avenue approaching 202 Street. The pedestrian was crossing 202 street. The white pick up made the right turn onto 202 Street colliding with the pedestrian.

Fire Fighters extracted the trapped female, a 21-year-old from Surrey. She continued to communicate with first responders and was taken to hospital by EHS to be further assessed.

The driver of the pick up, a 46-year-old man from Langley, was identified at the scene. At this point in the investigation, causes and factors contributing to the collision have not been determined; police continue to investigate.

If anyone witnessed the collision or has information about it, please contact the Langley RCMP at 604 532-3200.
