Langley RCMP Traffic Services has partnered with ICBC Road Safety, IRSU and our Community Policing Volunteers to focus on Targeted Enforcement and Educational Awareness for motorists in the Langleys.

On Friday afternoon, officers and volunteers will launch the campaign at the corner of 199A Street and 96 Avenue.

Officers will be targeting Distracted Driving and Seatbelt infractions. Mandatory seatbelt legislation has been in effect since 1977 and if you can believe it Distracted Driving Legislation came into effect in 2010! Remember, a first time distracted driving ticket will cost you $543 in total – $368 for the violation ticket and $175 for the four demerit points. What is a text worth to you?
