Unprovoked Attack on Jogger

The Prince George RCMP are warning the public after an unprovoked attack on a female jogger late last night.

During the afternoon of Monday May 15th, 2017, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a serious attack that occurred last night. On Sunday May 14th, 2017 at approximately 11:30 PM, a lone adult female was running along Foothills Boulevard near Ochakwin Crescent in Prince George when she was attacked from behind.

The male attacker knocked the victim to the ground, struck her a number of times and attempted to sexually assault her. A passing vehicle slowed down and honked, causing the attacker to flee on foot. The driver of the vehicle did not stop. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries, but was able to get to safety. The attacker may have marks or injuries.

The suspect is described as:

Investigators would like to speak to the driver of the vehicle and anyone else that may have either witnessed this unprovoked attack or has information that can further the investigation.

This incident is deeply concerning says Inspector Shaun Wright, Operations Officer at the Prince George Detachment. We are asking the driver of the vehicle that came across this incident to contact us, as well as anyone else with information to also come forward and help us identify the man involved in this disturbing attack.
