Failing to Stop Leads to Multiple Charges

One man is in custody and facing a number of charges after attempting to evade police yesterday morning.

On March 27th, 2017 at approximately 11:45 PM, a member of the Prince George RCMP attempted to stop a vehicle with no insurance and inactive licence plates in an alley adjacent to Tamarack Street near 20th Avenue in Prince George.

The vehicle ignored emergency lights & sirens and attempted to evade police by fleeing through a driveway, colliding with a parked utility trailer and a fence in the process. The vehicle was located moments later unoccupied in a parking lot on Upland Street.

Police Service Dog ‘Dero’ was deployed to assist officers searching for the suspect in the area. The suspect was located and arrested without incident in a driveway on Upland Street, about a block from the vehicle. The suspect was found in possession of a knife, a small amount of methamphetamine and a loaded firearm magazine.

The suspect was found to have a lifetime firearms prohibition and was on probation with conditions not to possess a controlled substance, not to possess a weapon and not to possess a knife. In addition, a licence plate located in the vehicle was found to have been stolen off a vehicle parked on the 4100 block of 1st Avenue on March 26th, 2017.

Keenan Frank SAM, a 25 year old Prince George man, is facing the following Criminal Code charges approved by Provincial Crown Counsel:

SAM was held in custody overnight and is scheduled to make his first appearance in court later today.
