File # 2017-05255

A young child has been returned home after being found wondering on a street in our community.

On Wednesday February 22nd, 2017 at approximately 10:15 AM, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a young child found near the corner of Union Street and Youngs Avenue in Prince George.

A member of the public working in the area, found the 3 year old boy wandering in the street wearing nothing but rubber boots. Police took custody of the child and a Police Service Dog was deployed to assist in locating the child’s residence.

With the help of a Canada Post employee, the child’s residence was determined and caregivers located. Officers have advised child welfare authorities.

The Prince George RCMP would like to thank the members of the public that took the time to assist the child and the police in this situation says Cpl. Craig Douglass, spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP. Without their help, the results could have been much worse.
