Guilty plea in manslaughter case

Channon Paul Coulter of Mission, BC has plead guilty to manslaughter in the death of a 75 year old Port Alberni man.


Mervin Hankins of Port Alberni was found dead in his home in the 3500 block of 4th Ave back on January 13th, 2012. Channon Coulter was arrested in relation to Mr. Hankins death back in February 2016.
 

On November 22nd 2017, Channon Coulter was in Supreme Court in Nanaimo on the matter when he entered a plea of guilty to manslaughter in the death of Mr. Hankins. Channon Coulter was sentenced to 15 years less credit for time served and he was given a lifetime firearms prohibition.
