Missing woman located deceased, investigation continues

Lillooet, BC: The body of a woman reported missing on November 5, 2017 was located deceased on the shore of the Fraser River. Police and the BC Coroners Service are continuing their investigation.

On November 5, 2017, a 26-year-old woman was reported missing to the Lillooet RCMP Detachment after she was last seen just before midnight on November 3 in the Lillooet area.

Since her disappearance, police pursued a number of investigative avenues in an effort to locate her. They included a number of ground searches throughout the Lillooet area as well as an aerial search utilizing support from RCMP Air Services.

On November 17, 2017, the missing woman was located deceased by a search party organized by her family and the community. She was located on the shore of the Fraser River approximately 21 km south of Lillooet on a remote section of the beach.

Foul play does not appear to have been involved in the woman's death. Lillooet RCMP and the BC Coroners Service are continuing their investigation and no further information is available at this time.
