Police have arrested an assault suspect, after a man was rushed to hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries sustained after being attacked with what police were initially told to be a knife early Wednesday afternoon.
On September 27, 2017 shortly after 12:30 pm, the Kelowna RCMP and emergency paramedics rushed to the scene after they received a report of a violent disturbance unfolding inside a home located in the 3900 block of Gallaghers Parkway in Kelowna.
The victim, a 26-year-old Kelowna man, was rushed from the scene, by BC Ambulance Service, to hospital for treatment of his injuries, states Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey spokesperson for the Kelowna RCMP.
The seriousness of the victims injuries are unknown at this time, therefore RCMP are unable to classify whether or not those injuries are life threatening in nature.
The suspect, a 23-year-old Kelowna man who was known to the victim, was taken into police custody without further incident at the scene. He remains in custody at this time and faces potential charges.
RCMP continue to secure the crime scene and provide victim services support to the family. Conduct of the investigation, which is in its preliminary stages, has been assumed by the General Investigations Section (GIS) of the Kelowna RCMP.
